The Life Changing Conversation, Me and My girl. (89)

Just the thought of “never again”…

Every decision you make will affect someone else

Prison

My friend is in Prison doing life w/o, with a lot of time to think. In a few years when he get a little older–he’s going to realize just HOW Senseless and Down-right Stupid of a reason for spending the rest of your life in Prison. Forever and a day, he’ll be swapping bodily fluids with someone he don’t even like.

So I thought about Sally, and her baby. She said it was mine, but I didn’t believe her. She asked me, “are you going to prison, or get a job and take care of our baby”? Sally knows that I can’t handle pain, so she told me that in prison you don’t get pain medication. She says, by-the-way have you considered what would happen if I got a tooth ache, she said it will be days before I get any medication, if I ever get any at all. She says, you can’t ask them for a couple of Aleve’s, it’s not that easy. Severe Pain for days.

Sally also knows how much I love my family. She ask me, how would you feel if while in prison your mom got sick, in the hospital calling for you day and night. Her pain level is at 8, but her doctor believed that she is giving-up from a broken heart. She said you promised her you wouldn’t go to prison.

Vintage Car

My girl Sally ask me, “are you going to break your promise to your child, a promise for a good life”? It doesn’t make a difference if it’s a little house, it can be a hooptie car riding on 2 donuts. 2×13 = $26 dollars an hour, we can make it work. In 10 years we can buy a big house and a nice car and have a couple of cents in the bank. My girl asks, what will you have after 10 years in Prison?

My future wife Sally, reminded me that we have sex 4 times a week, and we don’t even live together. You are a very high-natured young man. When you look at a girl on TV and “every-time you take a shower” your little thing stands to attention. For me it’s cute cause I know you can’t control it. But in Prison it will be considered an invitation-85% of inmates has sex, like it or not!

Petroleum Jelly

You better think about it. Whatever you choose will be your new life-for Life…

My dear future husband, I know you were raised in the streets and you know little else. However, it is imperative, it is of the utmost urgency that you take the time to look at the true consequences, these unthought-of consequences that we’re talking about now. It’s not so much what happens in prison, but rather, it’s the things that will never happen again for you. The things that you love best–you “will never” experience again, ever.

They say criminals don’t lack intelligence-they lack reasoning. Your reality is that, you are a criminal and you are very intelligent. I researched the following, please read it for me. “To a second approximation, we can say that theoretical reasoning is a process by which in the first instance you change your beliefs and expectations and that practical reasoning is a process by which in the first instance you change your choices, plans and intentions.”

“The use of reason to decide how to act, and what to follow. Reason is the capacity of consciously making sense of things: applying logic, and adapting or justifying practices, institutions, and beliefs based on new or existing information. The process of thinking about something in a logical way in order to form a conclusion or judgment.“

“The ability of the mind to think and understand things in a logical way”

Kids Holding Hands

You “Will” miss family, friends, going to the beach, club, & playing sports. But your dreams will be unstoppable, a force which will dominate your emotions and cause you insurmountable pain-that no medication can ease. “Us” lying in bed making love like their was noone else in the world but us. This dream “Will” haunt you!!

And the laughter of kids playing and having fun, or the neighborhood BBQ-when everyone comes, play volley ball, touch football, chess, the kids playing hopscotch, the boys chasing the girls,–etcetera!

This story is sooo powerful to me. It makes choosing the right decision sound soo easy. Everyone needs a Sally in their life to show/tell them the many reasons to Stop and Think. So many of our youth have NO idea of the consequences of the life of crime. Afterthefacts.net does a great job of exploring and explaining how the choices one makes impacts their life and the lives of their love ones. It is available to support the Sallys and for those who do not have someone like Sally in their life.

Thank you soooo much for that comment Shirley!!! And yes, that is a penetrating story that will help to achieve our objective, make our youth ‘Stop &Think’.

It’s comments like yours that keeps our engines running. Thanks again and God bless

Sometimes others can offer a wider perspective. You should know how hot and deep the water is before you jump in. After the fact means it’s tooo late, and it’s time for the consequences. A price you must pay, and, you may find that the cost is far tooooo high. You better ‘Stop&Think’!

Ellie, Thank you and God Bless you. Your comment made my day…:)
